TOTAL HIP REPLACEMENT

Expert care for patients with hip arthritis, pain, stiffness, or difficulty staying active

Is total hip replacement right for you?

Hip replacement may be appropriate when arthritis causes persistent pain, stiffness, trouble walking, pain getting in and out of a car, or difficulty with everyday movement

  • Groin and thigh pain

  • Difficulty with shoes, socks, or stairs

  • Pain that limits walking or exercise

  • Loss of hip motion or sleep disruption

What total hip replacement involves:

Total hip replacement replaces the damaged joint surfaces of the hip to relieve pain and improve mobility. The goal is to help you return to daily life with greater comfort and confidence.

  • Individualized surgical planning

  • Direct anterior muscle sparing and STAR approaches based on individual patient anatomy

  • Modern technique with attention to recovery

  • Clear guidance before and after surgery

Why patients choose this practice:

Patients benefit from a practice built around hip and knee reconstruction, not general orthopedic care. That focus helps ensure the conversation is clear, the plan is personalized, and the treatment is aligned with your goals.

  • Dedicated hip and knee replacement practice

  • Experience with modern hip replacement techniques including robotics and direct anterior approach as well as rapid-recovery surgery

  • Care centered on function and recovery

  • Most major commercial insurance plans accepted

What is recovery like?

Recovery varies, but many patients want to know when they can walk, drive, work, travel, and exercise again. Your recovery plan will be reviewed with you in detail so you know what to expect before surgery.

  • When can I walk after surgery?

    • Patients typically get up and walk the day of surgery

  • How long until I can drive?

    • Most patients return to driving within 2-3 weeks

  • When can I return to work?

    • For a desk job, most patients return within 2-3 weeks.  For more active jobs, we will discuss on an individual basis
